James is a poet and novelist who lives in Bournemouth, England. He was born in Hertfordshire in 1978. He has a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in 'English Literature and Experience of Writing' from the University of Derby, and an MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the University of East Anglia.
In 2003, James was selected as one of the Arvon / Jerwood Young Poets. His poem ‘The Lazy Maid’ has won second place in the UK National Poetry Competition. His poems have been published in a variety of magazines and journals, including Poetry Review, The Shop, The Rialto, Smiths Knoll, Staple, Orbis, Saint Ann’s Review, Interpreters House, Dream Catcher, Poetry Nottingham, and The North.
His novel Attraction (2004) was published by John Murray in the UK and by MacAdam-Cage in the US. He currently lives and works in Bournemouth, UK.
